What is the Community Visioning Cohort?
The Partnerships for Parks (PfP) Visioning Cohort was a yearlong program focused on building community engagement skills in members of NYC community groups supporting and advocating for their local parks. The program trained a small cohort of groups from each borough with a special focus on parks identified by NYC Parks as needing additional investment. The group attended community visioning trainings that prepared local leaders to spearhead community participation activities and develop collective priorities for their neighborhood parks. Participants learned how to gather public input that informs park design and programming to drive advocacy for funding capital projects.
