The Partnerships for Parks (PfP) Visioning Cohort was a multi-year program focused on building community engagement skills in NYC community groups who support and advocate for their local parks. The annual program trained a small cohort of groups from each borough with a special focus on parks identified by NYC Parks as needing additional capital investment. The cohorts attended a five-week community visioning training that prepared community leaders to spearhead community participation activities to develop community-supported priorities for their neighborhood parks. Participants learned how to gather public input that informs park design and programming to drive advocacy for funding capital projects.
